New York Youth Trip

Emily Spencer

We all experienced amazing things and saw many places on our trip to New York. Not only was it educational, but it was fun to see all the places that we really didn’t know about. There was also a wide variety of people we saw.

The first night we got into our hotel room, and shortly after that we went to TGI Fridays which was close to our hotel. We had a really nice waiter that we were going to go back to see, but we didn't get the chance to.

The second day we went to the Discovery Center. This elaborate center for the special needs showed all of us how you can take things that you would normally do, and modify them so someone that is special needs can do the same thing. It was really special to see how they went the extra mile to make them happy.

Tuesday was a very eventful day. We got up around 2 a.m. and made our way to the city to attempt to get the today show. We ended up very close to the stage where 5sos played that day. You could barely hear them because people were screaming so loud around us. Shortly after that  we walked through times square and made it to our cruise. On this cruise we saw many famous places like the statue of Liberty. After that, we made our way to Harlem and did some shopping.

Wednesday was our last day. We went to a mall and did a lot of shopping. We got back, then I packed up all of my stuff so it would be ready for in the morning.

Thursday morning we got up and loaded the vans. The high school van ended up going to D.C., the other van didn’t want to go so they headed home. When we arrived, we walked to the monuments. After we visited some of those, we went to the holocaust museum. I learned so many things i didn’t  know. This trip has been something I will never forget, and I am very thankful I got this opportunity. I will defiantly be putting New York on my bucket list to visit again.
